Mental health problems are highly prevalent and many will develop a mental health illness such as anxiety or depression during their lifetime. General practitioners are generally the first port of call for anyone seeking advice and treatment for a mental illness. Our doctors are experienced in providing private and supportive care for our patients with mental illness, without discrimination or judgement.

Depending on the problem your GP may discuss and prescribe a medication or they may refer you to a psychologist for non-pharmacological treatment. Our doctors are able to create a mental health treatment plan (MHTP)where necessary and for eligible conditions. A mental health treatment plan allows for a substantial Medicare rebate on psychology treatment sessions. Our doctors will work alongside other healthcare professionals such as psychologists and/or psychiatrists to achieve the best outcome for you.
