Patient Non Attendance


We understand that occasionally an appointment with your doctor may need to be cancelled or rescheduled. Wherever possible, we ask that you notify our reception staff at least 2 hours before your appointment if you need it rescheduled or cancelled. Any patient who fails to arrive for a scheduled appointment without cancelling the appointment at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled time is considered as a ‘no-show’.

Our practice now monitors and manages non attendance or no shows. A no show means that another patient loses an opportunity to be seen. When it is the first occasion of a patient failing to attend their scheduled appointment, the practice staff will remind them of the non attendance policy and a potential of a fee that could incur should this happen again. If there’s a second time the patient fails to attend an appointment then on this occasion a non attendance fee of $80 may be charged to the patient. They will also not be allowed to book any further appointments with our doctors until this fee is paid.
