We are open Monday to Friday, from 8:30am until 6:00pm and Saturday morning, from 9am until 12pm. Our practice is closed on Sundays and during public holidays.
Although we are able to see walk-ins for urgent needs, we prefer that you make an appointment to see your doctor. Using our online booking system, making an appointment is simple. Patients have the flexibility to schedule an appointment at a suitable time, for the right length of time and with their doctor of choice.
If you have a complex health issue to discuss or multiple small issues to be addressed, then please book a long consultation with our doctors. This will help us run on time. Please speak with our friendly reception staff if you are unsure of which type of appointment to book.
We are a privately billing general practice and this means that most GP consultations attract a private gap fee. Consultation fees are payable on the day and we offer medicare easyclaim where by medicare rebates are claimed automatically and immediately refunded directly into your bank account. Eftpos and credit card facilities are available at the practice.
Table below summarises common consultation fees and the out of pocket cost to patients. Procedures may attract a different gap fee and details of this can be discussed with our reception staff or your doctor prior to the procedure.

Please note our gap fees have increased slightly from July 2023. Childhood immunisations are bulk billed during Monday to Friday and full pension card holders (blue or purple card) are billed a lower gap fee ($30 out of pocket) during Monday to Friday. All consultations on Saturdays attract a higher full gap fee.
Our practice also bulk bills DVA card holders.
Southbank Medical Clinic is a newly established, independently owned and run general practice providing medical care to the local communities of Southbank, South Melbourne and St Kilda Road area.
